I use a strengths based behavioral health model to help clients find solutions to manage their struggle with substance abuse. I include neuroscience and physiological psycho-education, coping mechanism evaluation and lifestyle adjustments in my approach. Shame and judgement are not useful when working on these issues and it is my passion to provide an understanding of the physical, biochemical and emotional components that lead to addiction
I have worked with clients to end long term narcotics use as their treatment of chronic pain and illness. I have worked with individuals to explore how to end a lifestyle choice that feels like it is no longer the right choice.
I have worked with teens and adolescents to examine drug use and addiction as the primary LPC provider for students at LTISD in the initial year of mandated counseling for the drug testing within the LTISD district.
