A native Austinite, I know the charms and change of this part of Texas. As a young adult, after graduating from the University of Texas, I explored and lived in other parts of the world. Among many lessons wandering taught me, my most enduring is that there are many roads one can travel to find your way. In time, my path lead me back home to central Texas.
My professional passion is educating and supporting clients to become the expert on themselves. With an eye towards self awareness, together we uncover needs, motivations, triggers and growing edges. Sustainable change comes from within; it is my privilege to walk beside clients along the journey of self discovery.
Experience
I have been counseling adults and adolescents since 2010. In 2019, my practice moved from Austin to Bee Cave, TX, where I still provide Telehealth and in office sessions.
- I earned my Spanish degree from UT Austin in 1998.
- After graduation, I worked at the Texas State Capitol before earning my certificate Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Once certified to teach, I spent time teaching English abroad and traveling.
- After returning to Austin, I began a 10 year career in the tech field. While working, I also earned an MA in Counseling.
- As a St. Edward’s University Practicum student, I saw patients at a medical pain management clinic and an immersive chronic pain medication recovery clinic for people living with chronic pain.
- As an LPC Intern, I worked with Lake Travis ISD students along with my own clients at a low cost clinic. During this time, I also served on the board and as the Program Administrator for the International Center for Mental Health and Human Rights.
- Once fully licensed, I continued with LTISD as a contract counselor collaborating to develop a behavioral health program for the DAEP, providing individual and group counseling for select students and counseling students for the drug testing program.
- Until March of 2020, I served on the Tune Into Life Advisory Board, as Outreach Coordinator.
